Sweet, crunchy, and bursting with playful color—this Colorful Candy Popcorn transforms simple kernels into a glossy, festive treat perfect for parties, movie nights, or gift bags.

Ingredients
8 cups Popped Popcorn (about 1 standard microwave bag or freshly popped)
1 cup Granulated Sugar, for the sweet candy shell
¼ cup Water
1 tablespoon Unsalted Butter, for richness and shine
¼ teaspoon Salt (optional, to balance sweetness)
½ teaspoon Vanilla Extract (optional, for warmth)
Gel Food Coloring of your choice (red, blue, green, pink, etc.)
Optional Add-Ins:
Sprinkles, mini chocolate chips, or colored candy pieces

Directions
Step 1: Prepare the Popcorn
Pop the popcorn and place it in a large heatproof bowl. Remove any unpopped kernels to avoid surprises later.
Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper and set aside.

Step 2: Create the Candy Glaze
In a medium saucepan, combine:
• 1 cup sugar
• ¼ cup water
• 1 tablespoon butter
• Salt (if using)
Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely.
Once boiling, stop stirring and allow it to cook for about 4–5 minutes, until slightly thickened and syrupy.
Remove from heat and quickly stir in vanilla extract and a few drops of food coloring. Mix until evenly tinted.
